Dahi Bhalla – Soft & Chilled Street Snack from India & Pakistan

Dahi Bhalla is a soft, cold, and super tasty snack made from lentil balls soaked in curd (dahi). It’s sweet, salty, spicy — all in one! This dish is very popular in India and Pakistan, especially in summer or during festivals.
It’s served with yogurt, chutneys, and a sprinkle of spices. It’s light on the stomach and fun to eat. Let’s make this refreshing snack at home!

📋 Ingredients:
For Bhalla (Vada):
- 1 cup urad daal (white lentils)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For Topping:
- 1 cup plain yogurt (whisked) 🥛
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- Tamarind chutney (imli)
- Green chutney (mint/coriander)
- Roasted cumin powder
- Red chili powder
- Chaat masala
👨🍳 Steps to Make:
- Soak urad daal in water for 4–5 hours. Drain and grind into a thick paste.
- Add a little salt and beat the batter well to make it fluffy.
- Heat oil and fry small balls until golden and cooked.
- Soak hot bhallas in warm water for 10 mins. Then press gently to remove water.
- Place bhallas in a plate or bowl. Pour yogurt on top.
- Add chutneys and sprinkle spices. Serve cold and enjoy! 😋

✅ You can add boiled potatoes or papdi too.
