Aloo Paratha – Desi Breakfast Favorite

Nothing beats a hot, buttery aloo paratha in the morning! It’s a classic desi breakfast from India and Pakistan, filled with spicy mashed potatoes and cooked on a hot tawa with ghee or butter. It’s crispy outside and soft inside – full of flavor. 🫓🧈

📋 Ingredients (for 2 parathas):
For the Dough:
- 1 cup wheat flour
- Pinch of salt
- Water (as needed)
For the Filling:
- 2 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed) 🥔
- 1 chopped green chili (optional)
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder 🌶️
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- Few chopped coriander leaves (optional)
Other:
- Ghee or butter for frying 🧈
👨🍳 Steps to Make:
- In a bowl, mix wheat flour, salt, and water to make soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix boiled potatoes with chili, spices, and herbs.
- Take a small ball of dough, roll it into a small circle.
- Place 2 spoons of filling in the center. Fold and seal the edges.
- Roll it again slowly into a round paratha.
- Heat a tawa or pan. Cook paratha on medium heat with ghee or butter.
- Cook both sides until golden brown spots appear.
- Serve hot with yogurt, achar, or tea. ☕
